Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Elsewhere : Each Story (the "Service") handles, why it is handled, and the choices you have. The Service is provided by DAIJIN TECH (M) SDN. BHD. ("we," "us," or "our"). By holding an account or using the Service, you accept the practices described here.
1. Information the Service handles
Account and sign-in details. When you create an account, we hold the sign-in identifier and any profile details you enter, such as a display name. Sign in with Apple is handled by Apple; depending on the option you choose, Apple may share a private relay address and an account identifier with us, rather than your real email address.
Your stories and recordings. The writing, illustrations, bookshelf arrangements, voice recordings, and story-related messages you create are processed so they can be stored and shown back to you.
Device and connection details. When the app talks to the Service, basic technical information is involved, such as the IP address seen by the server and general connection information needed to deliver and secure the Service.
Purchase information. Payments themselves are processed by Apple. We do not receive card numbers or payment credentials. What we receive is purchase and receipt information needed to confirm a transaction, apply a subscription or coins, keep coin balances accurate, prevent fraud, and answer support questions.
Support and reports. Messages you send through the Report controls or to the support address, including the details and attachments you include, are held to deal with the issue raised.
2. How this information is used
- to create accounts, keep you signed in, and deliver the storytelling features;
- to store, display, and let you share the stories and recordings you make;
- to validate purchases, manage subscriptions, and maintain coin balances;
- to respond to reports, support requests, and safety concerns;
- to protect the Service against fraud, misuse, and unauthorized access;
- to meet legal obligations that apply to us.
3. Device permissions
Some features rely on permissions the system asks you to grant, and every grant can be reviewed or withdrawn in iOS Settings:
- Microphone — used for voice recordings and calls you choose to make;
- Photos — used when you select an image from your library to add to a story or message;
- Camera — used where a feature lets you capture an image inside the app;
- Location — used only by features that call for it, and only while you are using them.
Declining a permission simply limits the feature that depended on it; the rest of the Service continues to work. If a permission listed here is not part of the version you are using, no prompt for it appears.
4. Who information is shared with
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising. Information may be shared only in the limited situations below:
- Apple — provides Sign in with Apple and processes every App Store purchase, under Apple's own privacy policy;
- Hosting and storage providers — keep the Service and its content running;
- Moderation and safety providers — help assess reports and abusive content;
- Support and security providers — handle customer messages and fraud prevention.
These providers act under written agreements that keep information confidential, limit it to the purposes we set, and require protection equivalent to the standards described in this policy.
5. Retention and deletion
Information is kept only for as long as the account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal duties. You can delete your account from within the app; once deletion is confirmed, the account and its associated content are removed in line with this process, except for information a legal obligation requires us to retain.
Deleting an account does not cancel an App Store subscription by itself, and unused coins are handled as the Terms of Service describe. Copies you have shared with other people or services may remain outside the Service and cannot be recalled through deletion.
6. Security
Transmissions between the app and the Service use encrypted connections, and reasonable safeguards are applied to the information held. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, however, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and accounts are limited to adults. We do not knowingly collect information from people under 18. If you believe information from someone under 18 has been submitted, contact the support address and it will be reviewed and removed where appropriate.
8. Your rights and choices
Where a privacy law applies to you, it may give rights to access the information held, correct it, request deletion, object to or restrict certain processing, or receive a copy in a portable form. Account details can also be edited within the app, and permissions can be switched off in iOS Settings.
To exercise any right, email the address in Section 11 and describe the request. We will act in line with the law that applies; where U.S. state privacy law governs, the rights and any exemptions under that law control. A request will never be used to penalize you, though we may need to confirm identity before acting.
9. Where information is processed
The Service is offered to users in the United States. Because of where our providers and operations are based, information may be processed in countries other than the one you are in. Where that happens, written agreements and appropriate safeguards apply, and the protection commitments in this policy continue to hold.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the Service or the applicable rules change. We will revise the date shown above whenever an update is issued. If a change is significant, you will be told in advance; when the law requires your agreement, we will ask for it before applying the change.
